Kevin Burdett is speaking from the heart when he says his Crown Pavilions garden room has been a 'game-changer'.
Completed six months before Covid took hold, his Clarence garden room provided a sanctuary for the whole family as the world navigated a far bleaker normal.
"The timing of our build was a life saver," says the Coventry man. "Having a separate office from the main house really helped while working from home and I continue to use my garden room for work typically two days per week."
Flexibility for the whole family
Yet it's the flexibility of the space that has given enjoyment to the whole family.
"We also use the garden room as an entertaining space all year round and it's great to have the bifolds open in the summer, while there are two heaters for when we use it in the winter (even though we only ever need one of them on).
"I have a 65-inch TV at one end of the room and we love watching movies and sports, it's like having our own personal cinema.
"As you can see from the photos, one of my hobbies is collecting sports and music memorabilia. I have completely filled the walls with signed pictures and now even have one signed Coventry shirt on the ceiling! I also have a beer fridge, so I don't need to leave the room for a big sporting event," he laughs.
Choosing Crown Pavilions
Kevin opted for a 6m x 3m garden room, going for the largest size possible to fit the garden.
"We shopped around a little, however Crown Pavilions was always our favourite because of the design and quality of materials — the walls were thicker and it felt more like a proper building. We also really like the stone cladding to the front and seven years on it still looks fabulous, and we have had nothing but positive comments from family and friends."
Searching online initially, Kevin said he was sold after speaking to Crown salesman Carl Hooper.
"Carl was really helpful and not pushy whatsoever," he said. "I visited a showroom to look at potential options and I could see the quality for myself prior to committing. Carl then came to our house to measure and confirm the size was suitable and consider foundation design.
"The build process was relatively smooth — building work is always intrusive, however being outside the main house was certainly better. The team of two were professional and most importantly did a really good quality build."
